21 November 2011: Diamond’s Microfocus Spectroscopy beamline I18 has recently installed a new granite table, used for mounting beamline components such as detectors and mirrors, allowing different configurations for each experiment. The table provides an extremely stable platform to enable use of a sub-micron X-ray beam (250-500nm), allowing compositional, temporal and spatial information to be gathered at high resolution on the nano scale. This feature will be available to I18 users by the end of 2012.
